FRESH SOUNDS.

Down to Mars

We know you like to stay up on what's current. This playlist "Fresh Sounds" will feature some new + upcoming artist you can get to know.

Leon Thomas

Jordan Ward

You might recognize his face from hit Nickelodeon show "Victorious" but Leon is no stranger to the music scene. Most recently, he was behind the masterpiece "Snooze" on SZA's album and has writing credits for Drake, Kehlani and J. Cole. His recent single "Breaking Point" made waves through the music scene before realeasing another single "Crash & Burn" which could be a prelude to his much-anticipated album this year.

The "Down to Mars" group is fashioned by two Kentucky natives, Malachi and "Pinky." Heavily influenced by gospel, hip-hop and R&B, the two magically create great beats + symphonic music. You might have heard their hit single "Loneliest Number" with that killer guitar. The two have also dropped their first 9 track album, YOU (Your Own Universe) a floetic piece from start to finish.

Destin Conrad

Venna

Joony

FORWARD, FOR WARD. This St. Louis native started his career moving to LA and eventually becoming a back-up dancer for Justin Bieber. While on tour he met Becky G who helped get his start in music. Afterwards signing to Interscope with musical scores on Insecure. If you have yet to listen to his current project FORWARD, you won't be disappointed. He currently finished his first tour and is headlining concerts with Smino.

From making videos on the vine app to singing alongside Kehlani, Destin Conrad has proven that his talent holds no destination. If you haven't heard his first project COLORWAY with hit song "In The Air," it is worth the listen. COLORWAY is also the first song on the project as he literally "sees colors" while making songs or listening to music. He has collaborated with Kehlani, Ambre, Musiq Soulchild and is definetely here to stay.

Straight from the UK (South London), Venna contemporarily infuses Jazz, Hip-Hop and R&B to produce music that touches the soul. In efforts of creating his own lane, his music has no formality, its the type you cut on and just let it play. His current single "Tam Tam" perfectly embodies a musical trans of getting wrapped up into the beat but also elevated by the vocals. He already has already produced for  Burna Boy, Wiz, and Snoh Alegra.

You may have heard him on Brent Faiyaz' song "FYTB," but Joony is currently paving a path of his own. He has an eclectic sound mixed with inspiration from all different genres.  His latest work features the single "JAGGED EDGE," which samples "He Can't Love U" and great example of using classic R&B and making it current. While only in his early 20's he is on his way to establishing himself amongst the new generation of artists.

PHAbo

Khamari

Gwen Bunn

Shying away from singing at a young age, PHABO has now find himself at the epicenter of R&B. With a modernized, yet, nostalgic approach, PHABO infuses iconic 90's/ 2000's moments into his music. Imagine popping a CD into your CD player but make it 2020's, that's the vibe. From his popular EP "Soulquarius" to his recent project "Dont Get Too Cozy," PHABO aims to meet the world of R&B through a nuanced approach.

After leaving Berklee School of Music, artist Khamari is in pursuit of bringing back music that makes you "feel" something. With inspiration from Bill Withers and Stevie Wonder to Frank Ocean, Khamari, his current project "Doctor My Eyes" encompasses heart-felt, vulnerable sounds that evoke emotion. His lyrics are a direct reflection of his introspective view of himself to the listener.

Producing and laying tracks for some of your favorite artists like Kendrick Lamar, Donald Glover and Faith Evans, Gwen Bunn has been in the background imposing her way within the industry. Her futuristically-present sounds take you through a melodic story in her much felt songs. Bunn's "Safe Travels" is an invitation to garnering appreciation for her talents which was followed by her latest project "PHASE" featuing her hit single "2MANYTHINGS."
